is it just a place you lay your head, or is it something more than that?
i think home is a place where you know you belong. a place that you know you can always run to and feel better.
i think there's a point in everyone's life where home doesn't feel like that anymore.
i guess i've hit that point.
i don't know what to do or where to put myself. that feeling of belonging has disappeared and i feel so lost.
i don't know who i am and i don't know where i'm going.

My darling, were both on the wing, look down and keep on singing!
And we can go anywhere
Are you there?
Garden State, what?
I hit this point last year. I still don't feel at home in my house. (Sorry, that's pretty dismal)
As with Garden State, maybe that feeling of home will return when you build a home for yourself, for your family, for your kids. Until then, the feeling'll probably stay. Maybe.
MAYBE
You need to re-establish that feeling of home. Kind of like with songs. Like, I associate the Fleet Foxes with Christopher, but I'm changing it slowly because I listen to them with Amy a lot now.
MAYBE
You need to stay away from your house for a little while, and then come back.
OR,
I could giftwrap your house, and I could give it to you for your birthday saying "HERE'S A HOME FOR YOU."
PERHAPS
There was something that happened at home, like a change of smell or someone switched the livingroom around or a family member left. 'Cause our house doesn't smell the same as it was when I was a kid, and I know that makes me sad. And Jan's never, ever around, which really, really changes things.
ALSO
I find that feeling of home dissapates over the summer.
WHAT IF
You just need a routine? Like School, work ect.
THAT IS ALL.
Love, Hilary.
